Team boss promises "significant step forward" in 2011

Hispania Racing have released the first images of their new car, with team boss Colin Kolles promising a "significant step forward" in 2011. The Cosworth-powered F111 is the first chassis to be designed in house - Hispania's debut car having resulted from a collaboration with Dallara. It also features gearbox technology supplied by the Williams team. "We feel really proud of the car our drivers will run this forthcoming season," Jose Ramon Carabante, Hispania Racing's president, said on the team's official website. "Despite a challenging first year, we managed to finish on the eleventh position in the world constructors championship. Now, we are very pleased to introduce the first spec of the F111, which means a huge design-effort from our side. This is only a first step as we are planning several updates during the season." Kolles said the car, which features a new livery from designer Daniel Simon, underlines HRT's commitment to F1. The team have struggled financially since joining the grid last season. "The F111 represents a significant step forward for Hispania Racing. We have made a big improvement for starting our second season in Formula One and what you see in our new car confirms Hispania Racing's commitment to F1," Kolles said. "Daniel has created a wonderfully confident look for our new car which really captures the effort the whole team has put into developing the F111. The car design and the graphic design perfectly complement one another and mark the real beginnings of our ambitions." Although the car has yet to pass the FIA's mandatory crash tests, Hispania hope it will do so in time to enable them to take part in at least one pre-season test. The team have also yet to confirm a team-mate for Narain Karthikeyan this coming season.
