Corinna Schumacher: Has urged the media to depart Grenoble

In a statement released on Tuesday morning through Sabine Kehm, Schumacher's manager and spokesperson, Corinna asked: 'Please support us in our common fight with Michael. It is important to me that you leave the doctors and the hospital so that they can work in peace. I ask you to trust their statements and leave the clinic.

'Please leave our family in peace.'

A week after his skiing accident, Schumacher remains in a 'critical but stable' condition, with a medical bulletin on Monday assuring reporters, many of whom remain camped outside the Grenoble Hospital, that 'we do not plan any press conferences, nor give out written press releases, anymore for the time being'.

Yet, amid further speculation about the extent and rate of Schumacher's recovery, Kehm released another update late on Monday night in which she clarified that the 45-year-old is not yet out of danger.

While Schumacher's family had initially thanked the media for their 'support' in the aftermath of the former Ferrari driver's skiing accident, it was revealed last week that an unidentified man had attempted to gain access to Schumacher's hospital room while disguised as a priest.

Since then, Kehm has been moved to publish a series of denials and clarifications about Schumacher's condition in response to inaccurate reporting and conjecture - culminating, it seems, in the patience of the F1 legend's family finally snapping as they continue to maintain a bedside vigil in Grenoble.
