Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso have emerged unscathed from an alarming crash at the start of the Austrian GP.
The Ferrari and McLaren collided on the opening lap at the Red Bull Ring with such violence that Alonso's MP4-30 was buckled against the track wall and ended up on top of Raikkonen's car.
But both former world champions were unhurt in the incident and able to climb out of the wreckage.
Raikkonen accepted the blame for the accident afterwards, telling reporters that "I got some wheel spin and it went left" while Alonso described the Finn as "losing control" of his car.
However, a subsequent investigation by the race stewards determined that no further action was required. "No driver was at fault," they concluded.
