Sauber have introduced a short nose to the C34 as part of a number of aero changes introduced ahead of the Singapore GP.
Described by head of track engineering Giampaolo Dall'Ara "rather significant aerodynamic refinement" the new stubby nose is the most obvious of changes.
It follows the design philosophy of McLaren, Williams and Red Bull and is the first major update Sauber have brought to the car this season.
But far from this upgrade just being for the remaining seven races this year, both drivers know it is likely to influence what they will be racing in 2016.
"It will be important to validate these numbers on track and this will guide us for the 2016 car," Felipe Nasr said on Thursday.
Sauber started the Singapore GP in the bottom half of the timesheet with Nasr 12th on the timesheet, 2.163 seconds slower than Nico Rosberg and Marcus Ericsson 16th and 2.888 seconds off the pace.
