Red Bull and Ferrari will run to a different schedule at the second Barcelona test, with their cars to be in action from Friday to Monday.
Teams to run to different schedule at final Barcelona test
Red Bull and Ferrari have confirmed they will run to revised schedules at next week's third and final pre-season test at Barcelona.
The two teams will still be in action across four further days at the Circuit de Catalunya, but instead of running alongside the other line-ups from Thursday through to Sunday, will now sit out the opening day and instead run from Friday to Monday.
A Red Bull spokeswoman confirmed the revised programme, with team principal Christian Horner revealing that the World Champions had received permission from Ferrari - who had originally requested the change - to join the Italian squad in running at the circuit on March 5 in lieu of sitting out day one.
"From a logistical perspective, it just made a bit more sense. We asked Ferrari if we could join them, they agreed," Horner told
Autosport.
"It's in the test agreement and also within the test regs. We are within the time limit for that. It's something that we've elected to do."
Ferrari, who confirmed the change of plans on their website, also revealed that, unlike at the first two tests of the year, drivers Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso would drive the F2012 on alternate days next week - with Massa in the car first.
