McLaren have dropped their appeal into their Hungarian points-loss in the wake of their exclusion from the Constructors' Championship.
Woking team have no points in any case
McLaren have dropped their appeal into their Hungarian points-loss in the wake of their exclusion from the Constructors' Championship.
McLaren were docked all the Constructors' points they would have earned in Hungary, which totaled 15, after Fernando Alonso was found guilty of deliberately holding Lewis Hamilton up in the pits during qualifying.
The Spaniard's actions meant Hamilton was unable to put in a final run and he therefore lost pole position to his team-mate.
The team lodged an appeal against the penalty, which was expected to be heard in Paris on Wednesday.
Kicked out
However, McLaren were subsequently kicked out of year's Constructors' Championship after they were found guilty by the World Motor Sport Council in last week's Stepneygate hearing.
The Woking team has therefore decided not to press ahead with their Hungarian appeal.
"At the qualifying session of the 2007 Hungarian Grand Prix, the Panel of the Stewards of the meeting found that one of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes ("McLaren") drivers had obstructed another in the pit lane.
A penalty was imposed preventing McLaren from scoring points in the Constructors Championship at that meeting," said the statement.
"McLaren have notified the International Court of Appeal this morning that they wish to withdraw their appeal against the decision of the Stewards."
As to whether this is a sign that McLaren also won't appeal their Stepneygate fine and exclusion from the Constructors' Championship remains to be seen.
