Japanese rookie penalised following collision
Kazuki Nakajima has been handed a 10-place penalty for next weekend's Malaysia Grand Prix after he was involved in two accidents in Melbourne.
The Japanese driver eventually finished the race - his second in Formula One - in a creditable sixth place, Nakajima being bumped up a place in the finishing order after Honda driver Rubens Barrichello was disqualified.
However, in an Australian Grand Prix packed with incident, the 23-year-old was involved in his own fair share of action.
Nakajima was blameless for his involvement in a melee which took place on the opening lap, which alone saw a total of five cars retire.
However, the Williams rookie was held responsible for his shunt with Robert Kubica nine laps from the end of the race.
Following the last of three safety car periods, the field was closely bunched up ahead of the restart when Nakajima drove into the back of the BMW Sauber.
The impact forced the Japanese driver to pit and get his second front wing of the day - Kubica subsequently retiring from the race.
