The announcement of double points for the season finale in Abu Dhabi next season and permanent numbers caused quite a stir amongst pundits and drivers on social media.
F1 double points at the last race? So it's worth more than Monaco or Spa's Eau Rouge 44 times? There's spicing it up and there's being daft.

In all seriousness I'm not sure what to make of the double points rule. It's a bit pantomime but could be exciting. #OnTheFence #F1

By winning Abu Dhabi next year, a driver can now score more points in one race than the bottom four teams together managed in all of 2013.

It's a beautiful thing F1 drivers will have freedom to choose what number they want to race from next year. For now I'll keep mine quiet 😉
