Huddersfield teenager James Spencer has signed a new two-year deal at The Galpharm Stadium.

The 19-year-old striker, who has graduated from Town's academy, scored eight goals from 20 starts while on loan at Morecambe this season and made a total of 34 appearances for Sammy McIlroy's side. Manager Lee Clark said: "I sent Jimmy out at the start of the season to gain experience of playing regular first-team football in an environment where it really matters and the move has been perfect for him and Morecambe, who extended that deal to cover the entire season in January. "When you combine with his earlier loan spell at Northwich Victoria, he's now played a good amount of first-team football and the next goal for Jimmy is to come back into our squad and work hard to establish himself in our first team. "The fact that we offered a two-year contract shows that we feel he has the potential to play at a higher level if and when the club progresses."
