Walsall have signed former Norwich striker Simeon Jackson on a two-year deal.

The 29-year-old is the club's ninth summer signing after leaving Blackburn at the end of last season.

The Saddlers needed to boost their forward line after selling Tom Bradshaw to Barnsley and losing Romaine Sawyers to Brentford on a free transfer.

"I've had a look around the place and I get a really good vibe, so it feels great to have signed," Jackson told the club's official site.

"It was all down to the gaffer really. He told me how much he wanted me and the environment they are looking to build here and the philosophy of the club.

"We spoke and he outlined his plans for me and the club and we managed to get it done.

"It's a new challenge for me being a senior in the changing room, but from what I know and have seen in my short time here the set-up looks really good."

Jackson scored 42 goals for Gillingham during a two-year spell before joining Norwich in 2010, helping them to promotion to the Premier League in 2011.

He has also played for Eintracht Braunschweig, Millwall, Coventry City, Barnsley and left Blackburn after two goals in 19 appearances, just four of them starts.
