Warne touts Scott to lift Millers

Player-coach Paul Warne believes Rotherham will see standards rise under new boss Andy Scott who replaces Warne and Andy Liddell.

Scott presided over a caretaker spell following Ronnie Moore's dismissal in March. The former Brentford manager has reshaped the entire club over the summer, including setting up a permanent base at the training ground, and Warne believes the benefits will soon be seen. "Before as a club we were a little bit disjointed, at least now were based at the training ground it feels a little bit more like a football club," he told Press Association Sport. "However, despite being disjointed, we were still doing alright, but I think the little one per cents all add up. "There is a different generation of manager coming through. Scotty is hands on and has a finger in every pie so he sees everything. "Younger managers are more hands on than the old school of managers. In that respect it is a bit more energised so standards won't drop as much."
