New manager Aidy Boothroyd has announced striker Bas Savage has had his contract terminated at Northampton Town.
Savage signed for the Cobblers in August on a free transfer but failed to score in 10 appearances this season. The 29-year-old becomes the third player to leave the club in recent days, following on from the departures of Ashley Westwood and Chris Arthur last week. New boss Aidy Boothroyd said: "I believe in being up front and honest with people and letting them know where they stand. "I told Bas he was not going to feature in the first team in the next few weeks. "I would like to thank Bas for his efforts and wish him well, wherever his future may take him."
