Bury right-back Phil Picken will miss the rest of the Shakers season with cruciate ligament damage.
The 26-year-old suffered the injury in the 2-1 defeat to Preston nine days ago and learned he would require surgery at the end of last week. At the time Bury did not confirm the length of time Picken was facing on the sidelines but a statement on their official website revealed the grim prognosis, with the player targeting a pre-season return next summer.
