Oxford captain Jake Wright will not risk missing his side's promotion push by rushing back to action.

Oxford captain Jake Wright will not risk missing his side's promotion push by rushing back to action. The U's skipper has been sidelined for four weeks since suffering a deep cut to his knee in the 1-0 win over Torquay but admits he cannot risk a setback in his recovery. "I was hoping it would be a bit further along, but it's going as the doctors and the physio have said," he told the Oxford Mail. "It's been four weeks now and hopefully it won't be too much longer. "I want to be back as quick as possible, but I don't want to come back and rip my knee open again. "I need to make sure that it's strong underneath."
