Bury midfielders Tom Soares and Andrew Tutte have both signed two-and-a-half-year contract extensions at the JD Stadium.

The pair will now remain with the League Two side until the summer of 2017. Soares, 28, is one of the Shakers' longest serving players having been with them since 2012 and has featured 34 times this season. Tutte, 24, has been with David Flitcroft's side for 13 months and has played the same amount of games as Soares this term, scoring four times in the process. "Andrew has been fantastic for us, he's been a key member of this season's squad - his performances have been solid and consistent," chairman Stewart Day told the club's official website. "It was important that we signed Andrew as the gaffer and I believe that he is the type of player who is going to take the club forward. "As a club our aim is to keep our best players, we don't want to lose them to other clubs. "We believe that Andrew has the ability to develop himself as a top-class midfielder. We are absolutely thrilled with the signing." On Soares, Day added: "Tom has been a valued member of the squad and is an experienced, versatile player. "After sitting down with Tom he has ambitions of playing at a higher level and feels that this is more than achievable at Bury. "On signing Tom was delighted to put pen to paper and secure his future to the club and is looking forward to being part of the promotion push."
