Westley: Walker had to leave

Stevenage boss Graham Westley believes prematurely ending Josh Walker's loan spell was the best thing to do for all parties.
Watford midfielder Walker returned to his parent club on Monday. He linked up with Boro for a second time at the end of August in a deal that was scheduled to run until the new year. However, the 22-year-old's stay at the Lamex Stadium proved unsuccessful this time round and he has returned to Vicarage Road early. Walker made just six substitute appearances during the spell. "It didn't really work out for Josh as he would have liked, as I would have liked," said Westley, who hinted that he could bring in another player ahead of Thursday's deadline for emergency loan signings. "He has got a lot of talent as a footballer. He came in and I knew he wasn't going to walk straight into the side but I was hoping he was going to develop and evolve and give us another option down the right-hand side. "However, it hasn't quite worked out and he has gone back to his parent club which is the best thing for everybody."
