Rosler avoids penalty tension

Superstitious Brentford boss Uwe Rosler says he could not watch his side's 4-3 penalty shoot-out triumph over 10-man MK Dons.

With the scoreline 3-3 after 90 minutes, Stephen Gleeson missed the decisive spot-kick as the Bees progressed to the second round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Gleeson blazed the ball over the bar after Darren Potter had earlier seen his penalty saved by Richard Lee. Gary Alexander, Jonathan Douglas, Jake Reeves and Mike Grella all netted their penalties for Brentford - but Rosler could not bear to look. He said: "I'm very pleased to come to MK Dons, who are leading the league, and get the win. They made it very difficult for us. We put a lot into it and in the end, when we were leading 3-2 against 10 men, we shouldn't have given that goal away. "I didn't watch the penalties, I sat on the bench and was thinking about my wife and kids. It's superstition, I have never watched penalties, even during my playing career."
