Midfielder Paul Keegan has signed a new contract with Doncaster Rovers even though he struggled to make the first team last season.

Keegan, despite making just three appearances for the club last season, was offered a one-year deal by Rovers boss Dean Saunders. The 28-year-old Dubliner was signed in January 2011 by former manager Sean O'Driscoll having made his name with Irish Premier League sides Drogheda United and Bohemians. He played 45 minutes of the friendly game against Cleethorpes Town on Saturday and Saunders was pleased with his contribution. "I thought Paul did well and got better as the game went on," Saunders said.
