Saddlers' skipper Andy Butler was shown a straight red card in the 43rd minute for bringing down the brilliant Izale McLeod and conceding a penalty - from which Ben Reeves notched the visitors' second goal and the game was as good as over. McLeod scored either side of the spot-kick and had a handful of chance to net a hat-trick. Robinson insisted: "I don't want the sending off to be the headlines. My players performed really well and we should have been two or three up by then against one of the better teams in the league. "What Dean Smith (the Walsall manager) has done here is unbelievable, so for us to come here and win 3-0 was special." Robinson also praised the performance of McLeod who scored two great goals in addition to being tripped by Butler for the penalty. He said: "He has had some wonderful moments, and he knows what it takes to score goals, so I hope he keeps training hard and getting goals. It's important he takes his training into games. I had no other choice than to bring him in and he has done well. "But we still need more players. We can't have just one striker." Walsall striker Michael Ngoo, making his debut as a substitute after arriving on loan from Liverpool, was brought down for a penalty in the 89th minute. He took the kick himself but Dons goalkeeper David Martin saved it, denying the home side a bit of consolation.
