Hill pondering appeal decision

Rochdale manager Keith Hill has yet to decide whether to appeal against the dismissals of Jamie Jones and Matty Lund at Gillingham.
Dale's 1-0 defeat dealt their play-off chances a major blow and afterwards Hill was highly critical of referee Andy D'Urso, who showed straight red cards to Jones and Lund in the space of six second-half minutes. Goalkeeper Jones was sent off for a foul on Cody McDonald in the 63rd minute and Lund followed for his challenge on Bradley Dack. "We've still not decided," Hill told the club's offiicial website. "The camera angle from the Football League Show does no favours for Matty Lund, but from our angle it's minimal contact and at worst it's a yellow card. "However, having said that, we have to prove 100 per cent that the referee has made a mistake. "I think if he was honest he would admit that at best it's a yellow card, but he can't admit that. "We can't get it rescinded to a yellow card, so we're going to have to maybe take it on the chin. "It's a shame really because the consequences of the referee having a bad game and giving two red cards affects us with a ripple effect, with respect to the next three games. So that's where it's a double hurt for me." If Dale opt not to appeal Jones will serve a one-match ban, while Lund, making his first appearance since dislocating a shoulder on Boxing Day, will be suspended for three games.
