Carlisle's latest signing David Amoo is determined to repay the faith shown in him by manager Greg Abbott.

The 22-year-old signed a two-year deal last week following his release from Tranmere to become Abbott's first summer signing. "It's fantastic to have this done," Amoo told the club's official website. "I have two years here now and it's a real opportunity to show everyone what I can do. "I'm grateful to the manager for having that kind of faith in me and now it's up to me to repay that by getting out there and performing. "I do definitely feel like I've got something to prove. "I haven't nailed down a starting position at the other clubs I've been with and that's something which has to happen for me here. "I need to be playing consistently well and that's where my focus will be. I'm just determined to push on and make a real impression." Amoo, signed by Liverpool from Millwall when he was 16, spent six months at previous club Tranmere from the second half of last season and made 11 appearances. He added: "Obviously you hear of other interest, but I met up with the manager and I was really impressed with what he had to say. That was a great conversation and it was good of him to actually come and see me. "I knew I was going to sign after that and I'm pleased that we've got everything sorted."
