Dagenham & Redbridge have signed defender Luke Pennell from Evo-Stik Southern League Premier side Dunstable Town.
The 20-year-old had trials at Norwich, Burnley and Fleetwood but has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Daggers.
Manager John Still told the club website: "Luke was a player I watched whilst at Luton because he was at Dunstable, which was local.
"I was under the impression he had gone to Norwich but, as soon as I knew he was still available, I tried to do something about it.
"We've been speaking to him over the last couple of weeks and got it over the line today. I look forward to him joining up with the rest of the squad."
Pennell was an MK Dons academy player as a youngster and had spells at Rushden and Diamonds and Banbury United before joining Dunstable at the beginning of the season.
