Grimsby have agreed to sign forward Adi Yussuf from Mansfield Town on a free contract.
The 24-year-old will officially become manager Marcus Bignot's first signing when the transfer window opens on January 1 after agreeing an 18-month contract.
Yussuf, who has enjoyed spells with Burton, Lincoln and Crawley, never started a league game for the Stags but did net five times in 26 substitute appearances.
Bignot will be hoping Yussuf can add some firepower for the Mariners following their goalless New Year's Eve draw with Blackpool, with his new signing available for Monday's trip to Carlisle.
