Midfielder struggling with knee injury

Dagenham & Redbridge fear Sam Saunders may require surgery to remedy his knee injury. The midfielder has not played for the Daggers since the 3-0 home defeat to Darlington on 6th October. He visited a specialist last week, who warned he will have to go under the knife if the injury cannot be cured by rest. "Sam has a medial ligament problem and has been told by the specialist to have total rest for 10 days," said physio John Gowen. "We're hoping the problem will then subside, but if not he will have an operation to see what the problem is."
