Macclesfield will begin the season without captain Paul Morgan as the centre-back continues to be sidelined due to injury.
Morgan, 32, broke his arm in March and has not played since, despite returning to training this summer. Town boss Gary Simpson said: "Paul's been training hard and has just joined in the practice matches we've had amongst ourselves. "But he's not ready for the cut and thrust of a competitive game just yet as they are still assessing how well his arm and wrist have recovered. "Morgan is obviously a key player for us at the back and it would be great to have him available for selection as soon as possible. But that's unlikely to be for several weeks yet."
