Silkmen Grant-ed new striker

Striker John Grant has signed for Macclesfield Town on non-contract terms prior to the start of the new season.
The much-travelled marksman, who was released by Aldershot in May last year, struggled with an ankle injury in 2010/11 but spent two months with Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Barrow before parting ways by mutual consent at the end of January. He has been training with the Silkmen over recent weeks and manager Gary Simpson has been impressed enough to take him on board. Grant, however, will not be available for Saturday's League Two opener at home to Dagenham & Redbridge as the move was not completed in time.
