York City have appointed former Nottingham Forest defender Des Lyttle as their new first-team coach.
Lyttle, 40, reunites with City management pair Gary Mills and Darron Gee, who he previously worked with at Tamworth. "It's a pleasure to be here and I'm really looking forward to the challenge of working in the League and with Gary and Darron again," Lyttle told the York Evening Press. Minstermen boss Mills and assistant Gee left Tamworth for York in October 2010. Lyttle made 185 appearances for Forest during a six-year spell from 1993 and also spent three years at West Brom, where he made 67 appearances.
