Buoyant Burnett on cloud nine

Dagenham manager Wayne Burnett described himself as 'absolutely ecstatic' after a fortuitous late goal saw them beat Oxford 1-0.
The Daggers secured their first home win since January 1 when Daggers midfielder Luke Howell saw his strike from the edge of the area smash into Michael Raynes before deflecting over the stranded United goalkeeper Ryan Clarke via the knees of Matt Bevans. Burnett said "I'm absolutely ecstatic we've managed to get a win eventually. It hasn't been for the want of trying, but it was a bit fortuitous to say the least but we'll take it any way we can. "I thought we had the lion's share of the position without really troubling them and I didn't think they really troubled us. Certainly in the second half, they probably came out a little bit better and then we really grew into the game. I thought we passed it ok at times without really hurting them. "It was a very, very fortunate goal, Luke Howell's had a shot which hit their defender and come back and I believe that it's hit him and looped over the goalkeeper. "It's a cruel way for Oxford to lose the game, but for us to score in the 89th minute is fantastic and we're delighted about that."
