Davey plans summer overhaul

Darlington manager Simon Davey has revealed it will be a busy summer as they try to turn things around.

Quakers boss disappointed for club's fans

Darlington manager Simon Davey felt sympathy for the club's fans after another defeat and revealed it would be a busy summer as they try to turn things around for next season. The already-relegated Quakers went down 2-0 at home to Grimsby, who sit second-from-bottom in League Two. Davey is now looking ahead to next season and has indicated that he wants to overhaul his squad in the summer. "I am very, very disappointed for the fans. They don't deserve that. We have a lot of work to do in the summer. Both goals were disappointing. The first was a free header from a defender," said Davey. "It's not as though Grimsby were that much better than us. We don't have enough winners in the group and that is something that I have to address. "We need to do better at home and it's up to us to ensure that when people come here next season they see better performances than this one. "There is a fear factor and we need to take the game by the scruff of the neck and win more games. "We seem to be playing better away from home at the minute and I don't want that. We need to win more games at home and play with more confidence."
