Ridsdale unsure on wantaway duo

Preston chairman Peter Ridsdale insists the club share the ambitions of unsettled pair Danny Mayor and Jamie Proctor.

The North End youth products are currently on the transfer list after stating their desire to play at a higher level than League One. Boss Graham Westley has already overseen an extensive recruitment programme ahead of next season and when asked whether Mayor and Proctor would be part of those plans, Ridsdale told the Lancashire Evening Post: "You will have to ask them that. They are the ones who said they wanted to go elsewhere. "They are suggesting that they would prefer to play at a higher level more quickly than we can offer them because obviously we can't next season play in the Championship because we have a season to play in League One first. "Clearly for them to move on, they need to have other clubs to show an interest in them. We will see what interest there is. "At the moment, we don't know what the future is going to be with regard to them. But anyone who is not going to be part of our future, we would like to see them playing elsewhere by the time we get into the serious business of starting the season."
