John Coleman has underlined his desire for an overhaul of Rochdale's squad following the publication of the club's retain list.
Dean Holden, Joe Widdowson and David Lucas have been released from Spotland at the end of their contracts, but Dale boss Coleman insists there is plenty more work to be done in preparation for life back in League Two.
"The release list is only the beginning of the radical squad overhaul promised at the culmination of last season," he told the club's official website.
"The disappointment of losing our League One status hurt us all, but now it is time to put that behind us and look forward to the future.
"We have several targets identified and it is anticipated that there will be plenty of comings and goings throughout the summer.
"Both Jimmy (Bell, assistant manager) and I are confident that the squad assembled by the start of next season will have a whole new look and approach and will be capable of competing at the top end of League Two."
