Davis agrees new Vale deal

Port Vale boss Micky Adams has expressed his delight after defender Joe Davis committed to signing a new two-year contract.

The 18-year-old, who will pen the deal when he returns from holiday, enjoyed an impressive breakthrough into the first team at Vale Park last season, making nine appearances. And that form has seen him rewarded with a new deal. Boss Micky Adams told the club's official website: "We look forward to Joe returning from holiday and signing his new deal, which was never in doubt. "Joe has excellent potential, which has been reflected in a number of his performances last season."
