Westley content with a point

Stevenage boss Graham Westley was pleased with how his side responded to fight back and earn a 1-1 draw against Port Vale.
Vale were ahead when Tom Pope nodded home his 12th League One goal of the season after 48 minutes. But Peter Hartley headed home Luke Freeman's free-kick to level the scores after 61 minutes. However, Boro remain bottom of the table. Westley said: "It was another difficult afternoon in terms of conditions, the pitch was very uneven and the ball was bobbling around everywhere. "The conditions were awkward so it was always going to level itself out I felt. It was difficult for either side to really get anything flowing and have any sustained pressure. "(Pope's) was a very disappointing goal to concede from my perspective. The credit that the players deserve is for their reaction to the situation. "They didn't feel sorry for themselves, they kept trying to play their football and we got an excellent goal from Peter Hartley to level things up. "We knew going into the final eight games that we need to do better than we have in the previous eight games. "I think that's two defeats in nine games now which on the whole isn't a bad recovery from the situation we were in."
