Crawley hope to complete the signing of experienced midfielder Marvin Elliott this week.
The 30-year-old Jamaica international has been training with Town in a bid to earn a contract. Elliott, who started his career at Millwall, is a free agent after he was released by Bristol City at the end of last season. Meanwhile, Crawley were dealt an injury blow during Tuesday night's goalless draw with Doncaster after left-back Ryan Dickson limped off with an ankle problem. Manager John Gregory admitted: "That might be a bit of a long-term injury."
