Anderson staying at Carlisle

Carlisle have reached agreement with Burnley to extend defender Tom Anderson's loan spell at the club until January 3.

Anderson, 22, has made four appearances for Carlisle since arriving at Brunton Park at the end of October. "Tom has done well and we think there is more to come from him," Carlisle boss Keith Curle told the club's official website. "He likes to defend and that's something we can work with. He's enjoying being around the first team and he has a good attitude and approach to the way he plays. "We think he'll continue to improve and we're pleased that he'll be with us for another month." Anderson progressed through Burnley's academy and has had previous loan spells at Barrow, Hyde Halifax and Lincoln.
