Wilcox: Hard work paying off

York boss Russ Wilcox is hoping his side's luck has turned following last weekend's win against relegation rivals Tranmere.
The Minstermen secured only their second home win of the season thanks to a double from recalled striker Wes Fletcher and climbed out of the bottom two. "Hopefully we'll get that little bit of luck now that we've not had and move on to win more games," Wilcox said. "The job's not done, we know that, but I think we've got enough quality in that group to move up that table. "We've not had the rub of the green and not had the referees' decision, but we've stuck together and the key part of that is hard work. "Don't feel sorry for yourself, keep working hard because the harder you work the luckier you become." Fletcher struck in either half on Saturday to help York secure their first win in eight league matches, while Wilcox was also full of praise for teenage midfielder Brad Halliday. "He's full of energy - he should be at 19 - but he's intelligent as well," Wilcox added. "Anybody can run about and be a nuisance but he has got qualities as well. He's good with the ball."
