The stage is set for Hockenheim - and it's more accessible than ever...
The 2012 F1 season may be racing towards its month-long August break but there will be no slowing down by Sky Sports F1 this weekend as it heads to Hockenheim for the German GP. The channel - which will be available to ALL Sky and Virgin Media customers this weekend - is gearing up to broadcast every session of what promises to be a riveting grand prix as the season nears the critical halfway stage. It's a weekend which will also include Lewis Hamilton's landmark 100th F1 race and we will be hearing from the McLaren driver as he selects his favourite grands prix from the last five years. But whilst Lewis is this weekend's history-maker, it's Sebastian Vettel who is the home favourite and we'll be seeing the Red Bull driver as we've never seen him before as Simon challenges the reigning World Champion to a game of basketball. Yes, you did just read that correctly! Meanwhile, the revitalised Felipe Massa, fresh from his best result of the season at Silverstone, will also providing the track guide for the much-changed Hockenheim circuit, Mark Webber will be stopping in for a chat following his victory at Silverstone and subsequent decision to sign a contract extension with Red Bull, while Lotus' Kimi Raikkonen will be making an appearance on The F1 Show to discuss his comeback season. But that's far from all. On the Skypad, we'll be taking a detailed look at the implications of the FIA's new overtaking ruling, Johnny will be chatting with his former team-mate Michael Schumacher about their time together and how the German is enjoying his second life in F1, and, following the success of Nigel Roebuck's intimate portrayal of Gilles Villeneuve for last month's Canadian GP, we'll be broadcasting the second installment of our Echoes of the Past series with the legendary James Hunt thrust into the limelight. But as ever, the real attention-seeking star of the show will be the track action, with our coverage of Friday's Practice sessions starting at 8.45am and our race show on Sunday going to air at 11.30am. Can McLaren bounce back to form after their Silverstone slump or will both Red Bull and Ferrari strengthen their grip on the 2012 campaign? The stage is set on Sky Sports F1 for all to be revealed...and it will be done so by an-all star cast of reporters and pundits that will include Sky Sports News' Rachel Brookes standing in for the soon-to-be-married Natalie Pinkham - congrats Nats! - and, making a welcome return following his awful Le Mans accident, Anthony Davidson on the Skypad. Welcome back Ant...and a big welcome to Sky Sports F1 to all Virgin Media and Sky customers. Enjoy! Sky F1's German GP ScheduleThursday 19th July
