Golf SKINS G400

Forget about playing in skins games on the golf course and embrace SKINS clothing instead.
Now most golfers have probably played in a skins game on a golf course, but have you ever thought about wearing them? SKINS - the company that made it acceptable again for men to wear tights on a sports field - are now trying to help golfers improve their game with the G400 range. Their garments will "help to ensure that all the muscles used when swinging a golf club work effectively in unison and promote a heightened sense of body movement and spatial awareness" according to their official website, though this clearly doesn't take into account my rusty swing. Still, as a man not afraid to wear something tight-fitting in the pursuit of perfection (or at least carding something under 100) I was willing to give the G400 gear a go. The compression long sleeve top - which comes in either black or white, depending on which goes best with your favourite polo shirt - was a snug fit, with a low-cut neck line too. Designed to increase blood flow to the torso and arms, therefore helping achieve long lasting and increased performance, the top offered particular support across the shoulder blades. However, the key to the G400 is not how it looks but how it helps performance. Crucially, the top helps accelerate blood flow, enhancing oxygen delivery to the muscles and helping reduce any problems with lactic acid - in simple terms, it means your back and arms shouldn't feel so stiff as you head to what could be the crucial final few holes of your round. Even more importantly, a weighted bottom lining meant there was no need to be concerned about the top riding up during my swing (apparently, there's nothing worse than a tight-fitting item of clothing riding up...oh, except laddering a set of tights two minutes after you've put them on). The G400 compression shorts work in a similar way, and the availability of different leg lengths mean you can have them to suit whatever feels most comfortable. The memory MX fabric also means that no matter how much you stretch your SKINS they will always return to their normal shape (if only human skin worked in such a similar way). With no concerns about sweating thanks to advance wicking drawing moisture away from the body, SKINS golf wear is not just something to be slotted on in the winter months - whether your putter is ice cold or red hot, your body heat will always be on the same level. All SKINS need to do now is invent an item of clothing that will stop me slicing off the first tee (not to mention three-putting from 10ft, duffing chips, finding water when it seemed impossible, spending more time in the sand than an extra on Baywatch etc, etc)...
