Dramatic finish for Sergio Garcia at BMW Championship to stay in FedEx Cup contention

Sergio Garcia endured a dramatic finish to the BMW Championship where two free drops at the final hole kept him in FedEx Cup contention.
Garcia thought he needed to make par to qualify for next week's Tour Championship as he found the shallow greenside water hazard with his approach to the par five 18th.
What followed was a bizarre 15-minute deliberation as the Masters champion was ruled to be interfered with by the grandstand, which allowed him a free drop within the hazard. After seeing his ball ricochet towards the green on both attempts to drop, Garcia was able to place the ball in the hazard to allow himself a shot.
As playing partner Phil Mickelson waited patiently, the Spaniard played his third shot into the grandstand leading to another free drop.
He was then able to get up and down for par to move into the top 30 in the FedExCup standings and book his spot at the season-ending Tour Championship in Atlanta.
