Jason Day's hopes of WGC-Cadillac Championship victory are over for another year, but the PGA Champion had reason to smile after a memorable finish to his third round.
The Australian was one under for the day and 11 strokes off the pace as he made his way to the par-four last, but looked set to slip further down the leaderboard when he fired his tee shot in to the hazard.
After having to take a drop, Day struck his approach on to the back of the green and left a lot of work to do to salvage a par.
Faced with a winding 65-footer, Day guided his putt a long way left of the hole but watched his ball take a dramatic turn down the slope and in off the right edge of the cup.
The unlikely par-save saw Day close a third-round 71, his lowest of the week so far, with the world No 2 celebrating in style after watching his putt drop.
