No current players match Tiger Woods, says Padraig Harrington

Padraig Harrington has insisted that the best players in the world at present would be no match for Tiger Woods in his prime.

However, Harrington is happy to see more strength in depth in the game since the dominance of Woods ended, and he feels the overall standard has improved on all tours worldwide over the last decade.

But the Irishman, who won his three majors when Woods was still at the top of the world rankings, believes the likes of Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and Jason Day do not stand out in the manner Woods did at the top of his game.

"I think there is a greater depth of players nowadays," said Harrington ahead of this week's Hero Indian Open in New Delhi. "In my days we pretty much had a Tiger and if he was playing his best then he was close to impossible to beat.

"Nowadays we probably have six players who are playing their best. We actually wouldn't know who was going to win. But none of them are quite as good as Tiger when fully in form. Tiger's 'B' game was pretty good as well.

Harrington has slipped to 125th in the world rankings, and his surprise victory at last year's Honda Classic was his first title since he clinched his third major at the PGA Championship in 2008.

But the 44-year-old remains determined to compete with the best players in the game, and he is looking forward to taking on the likes of Anirban Lahiri, Tommy Fleetwood and Peter Uihlein in India.

"It's hard to live up to those standards of 2007-08. That was truly a peak," added Harrington. "But I am in good form. I do feel like I am playing well and I am looking forward to the next peak in my career."
