Who needs to impress at the Tour Championship for FedExCup glory?

The 2015-16 PGA Tour season reaches its climax this week, as the final 30 players left in the FedExCup battle it out for Tour Championship victory.

Every player in the field has a mathematical chance of claiming the FedExCup jackpot in Atlanta, although 30th seed Charl Schwartzel would need to win this week and see Dustin Johnson finish inside the bottom two to have any chance.

Like the previous three play-off events, the winner picks up 2,000 points - four times the amount given for a regular PGA Tour event. The runner-up gets 1,200 and third earns 760 points, with the playing coming up last this week picking up 164 points.

With the points reset ahead of the final tournament of the season, any of the current top five in the standings; Johnson, Patrick Reed, Adam Scott, Jason Day and Paul Casey, will guarantee the overall points title with victory this week.

Johnson is in pole position having won the BMW Championship a fortnight ago and anything other than a last-place finish will keep him in FedExCup contention, while Barclays champion Patrick Reed needs to end the week inside the top six to stay in the hunt.

Outside of the top five, a win for McIlroy could see them top the season standings, providing Johnson or Reed don't end solo runner-up at East Lake, while outright second may also be enough depending on how the others perform.

Defending champion Jordan Spieth can become the first player in history to claim back-to-back FedExCup titles this week, but will need a repeat of last year's four-shot win and hope both Reed and Johnson are outside of the top two.

A poor week for Johnson and Reed would open the door for the chasing pack, with Russell Knox and PGA Champion Jimmy Walker among the players who need outright victory and needing the top two to struggle.
