After parachuting up the leaderboard with five birdies in a six-hole stretch around the turn, Reid found the rough with his approach in to the par-five 15th.

Her pitch rolled then back down on to the cart path and took more than a minute and a half to eventually grind to a halt, with Reid then unable to get up-and-down to save par.

Reid then went on to bogey the last and close a four-under 68, telling reporters, "We're going to have to shoot a low one to give ourselves a chance but there are plenty of birdie opportunities, so hopefully we can get off to a fast start again."
