Gary McCord gets the giggles after spotting a monkey in a nappy at Pebble Beach

Veteran golf commentator Gary McCord has provided many laughs for viewers over the years, but he suffered a laughing fit of his own due to an unusual site at Pebble Beach - a monkey wearing a nappy!

The host broadcaster's cameras were panning around the galleries late on the third day of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am when they managed to find a spectator with a monkey perched on his shoulders.

But as the man turned around, it became clear that the monkey was wearing a nappy - or a diaper in American terminology.

"Is that ... is that a monkey in a diaper?" asked McCord, who was then rendered speechless as he battled a fit of the giggles, much to the amusement of his CBS colleagues Sir Nick Faldo and Jim Nantz in the commentary booth.

McCord managed to calm himself down shortly after watching Dustin Johnson hole a tricky birdie putt, and normal service was resumed.
