Teenager Brooke Henderson carded a closing 66 to capture the fourth LPGA Tour title of her career at the Meijer Classic in Michigan.

The 19-year-old Canadian's bogey-free round included three birdies, enough to fend off Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson by two strokes.

Henderson located 16 greens in regulation and covered the closing 34 holes at Blythefield, in Grand Rapids, without a single bogey on her card.

Sunday's victory took her career earnings to more than $2.5m. As for her closest rivals, Wie posted a 65 while overnight leader Thompson fired a 69.

A delighted champion said: "I was kind of surprised when I looked at the leaderboard and I had a two-shot lead on the 18th green.

"Super happy and I'm just glad it's done and I finally have my fourth win."

For the final two rounds, the fifth hole was played as a par three, instead of a par five, because of problems caused by flooding.

Madelene Sagstrom led the European challenge. The Swede's final round 65 left her three strokes behind Henderson in a tie-for-fourth.

The top Brit was England's Holly Clyburn who tied-37th, following a 69 that was ruined by back-to-back bogeys at 16 and 17.
