Australia's Jason Day sees the funny side after the first tee announcer gets his name wrong

Jason Day might have been ranked the No 1 golfer in the world at last season's BMW Championship, but the announcer on the first tee still managed to get his name wrong!

Day teed up his ball on the opening hole at Crooked Stick and stepped back to begin his pre-shot routine as the unfortunate announcer went through the formality of introducing the Australian.

Day admitted to feeling sharp pain in his back during his first round

But the 2015 champion's preparation was unexpectedly interrupted by laughter when he heard the words "from Australia, Jordan Day".

At least Day refused to be rattled by the error and joined in with the giggling galleries before composing himself and finding the middle of the fairway with a perfect long-iron.

But Day was forced to withdraw from the tournament after eight holes of his final round after he aggravated a back problem, and he would also pull out of the following week's Tour Championship after an opening 67 in Atlanta.
