The Englishwoman's fast finish helped her match playing partner Georgia Hall's opening-round 70 and stay in touch with early pacesetter Supamas Sangchan.

Sangchan fired a bogey-free 67 to set the morning clubhouse target at five under, with Scotland's Kelsey MacDonald one of five players a shot off the pace.

Beginning on the back nine, Sangchan - a winner on the Ladies European Tour last season - picked up a shot at the par-four 17th and added four birdies in a six-hole stretch from the first to top the leaderboard.

A final-hole birdie lifted MacDonald into the share of second alongside Nanna Koerstz Madsen, Celina Yuan and Finnish pair Minea Blomqvist and Noora Tamminen.
