The American teenager, who featured in USA's Solheim Cup team this summer, posted a bogey-free 67 at Emirates Golf Club to join In-Kyung Kim and Celine Herbin at the top of the leaderboard.

Herbin fired a round-of-the-day 64 but found the water with her approach into the first extra hole, as Yin and Kim both made birdies on the par-five to extend the contest.

Yin then drove the second play-off hole and two-putted from distance for birdie, which secured victory when Kim pitched to 10 feet but missed the eight-footer to extend the contest.

I'm speechless!" Yin said. "I've won my first event with a play-off so I've crossed a lot of things off my list."

On a day of low scoring, Herbin birdied her opening four holes and bounced back from a blemish at the sixth to post back-to-back gains from the 10th and pick up shots on her last two holes to set the initial clubhouse target.

Kim also made a fast start with three consecutive birdies to join the Frenchwoman on 15 under, as Yin followed a hat-trick of birdies from the second with gains at the 10th and 13th.
