Ted Potter Jr proud of surprise win at AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Ted Potter Jr is relishing the chance to re-design his schedule for the rest of 2018 after a career-changing victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
The 34-year-old held off a stellar field in California to secure a three-shot victory and his second PGA Tour title, earning him a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour and also booking his place at the Masters.
Potter, who didn't hold full PGA Tour status until his victory, posted a three-under 69 during the final round to pull ahead of playing partner Dustin Johnson and the chasing pack.
"It's just a truly unbelievable thing to win here at Pebble," said Potter, who moves to a career-high of world No 73. "Going into the week I knew I needed to have a really good week to be able to play in some of the events on the East Coast.
"To win here, it's just very special, and to get me out of the category [Web.com Tour status] that you never really want to be in, but you have to be in sometimes, just happy to be where I'm at right now.
"It [his schedule] has definitely got to change a little bit. To move up that far in the FedExCup points and it gives me a good opportunity to finish high at the end of the year here.
"I'm pleased to be able to pick a schedule now and pick some courses that I like and work hard, to finish high enough on the FedExCup to get to East Lake."

Potter finished three shots clear of Chez Reavie, Phil Mickelson and playing partner Dustin Johnson, who birdied the par-five last to close an up-and-down 72.
"All in all, still a good week," Johnson said. "Tied-second I guess is not terrible, but I would like to have put a little bit more pressure on Ted (Potter Jr).
"It was just one of those days where nothing went my way and it is what it is. Ted played well.
"I've got a golf course that I really like playing next week and the game's in pretty good form. I'll go work on a few things Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to get ready for next week."
