Tiger Woods chips in from the rough to grab a share of the lead during the third round of the Valspar Championship.

Tiger Woods produced a moment of short-game brilliance to reach the turn in a share of the lead during the third round of the Valspar Championship.

The world No 388 headed into the weekend two strokes off the pace after rounds of 70 and 68 at the Copperhead Course, before starting Saturday strongly with a long-range two-putt par at the second and 20-foot birdie at the third.

Woods pitched out of thick rough to leave a tap-in birdie at the par-five fifth and almost chipped in from the sixth fairway, before showing another stunning shot from around the green at the par-four ninth.

After seeing his approach bounce over the green and into thick grass just off the putting surface, Woods then hole-out from the rough in spectacular fashion to move joint-top of the leaderboard.
